Notes on TERRA | view bio | ||
Eric Slayton says his “Terra” series seeks to capture the feeling of “entering into a space by turning a corner, climbing over a ridge, or stepping from behind a high row of vegetation.” These pictures are the photographer’s records of “moments when everything falls into place and the earth shares a bit of its quiet secrets.” For the photographer, such epiphanies have never been contingent on the discovery of exotic or even unusual landscapes. Slayton finds revelation in his own backyard, in a neighbor’s driveway, on the ferry commuting to work. “The natural world nurtures me with an ever-flowing stream of inspiration,” he says. |
